Bulk Medication Disposal
The Ohio Rx Disposal initiative welcomes partnerships with Ohio communities and organizations. With your help we can raise awareness of prescription drug misuse, promote evidence-based prevention strategies, and distribute safe medication disposal and storage products to a greater number of Ohio residents.
Partner for Distribution
Safe medication disposal and storage products are available in bulk for community distribution. These resources are available at no cost to your organization thanks to funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Recovery Services.
Community partners are required to provide Ohio Rx Disposal with information on how, where, and how many resources are distributed. We’re also interested in feedback from Ohio residents who receive safe medication disposal or storage products and want to learn about your experience distributing these resources. PreventionFIRST! (an Ohio Rx Disposal partner) will reach out quarterly via email to gather this information.
Available for Bulk Distribution
Deterra Bags
The maximum request is 400 bags. Request must be made in increments of 25 and can be across multiple sizes. Deterra Bags are available in three sizes: small, medium, and large.

Medication Lock Boxes
For bulk requests, medication lock boxes are available in two sizes: small and medium. You can request up to 25 boxes between the two available sizes.

Sharps Disposal Containers
For bulk requests, sharps disposal containers are available in two sizes: small and medium . You can request up to 5 containers per size

Dispose RX
Dispose Rx is an at home safe medication disposal method.
For bulk requests, Dispose Rx is available in boxes of 100. You can request up to 4 boxes.

Medication drop-off boxes are a valuable community resource and service. This safe medication disposal strategy has specific federal guidelines, start up costs, and requires sustainability planning.
